Saw Rio 2 at my theatre before work, and I enjoyed it a lot. I shall now tell you why.

Story: Tulio and Linda end up finding out that their may be more Spix's Macaws in the Amazon. Jewel, Blu, and the whole family go off to the Amazon to find out if its true.

Characters: Most of you who've seen the first film will know most of the characters, but I will talk about the new ones. Gabi (Kristen Chenoweth. Galinda in Wicked) is a poison dart frog who falls head over heels, er, webbed feet for Nigel the villain cockatoo. Eduardo (Andy Garcia Godfather part lll) is Jewels father who doesnt mind his grandchildren calling him Pop Pop, but prefers Blu call him Sir. Roberto (Bruno Mars, singer) is Jewels childhood friend who is a bit of a heartthrob, but acts as the tribes lookout. Watch the movie for more characters.

Animation: just like the first movie, this film just BURSTS with color. the birds movements are all very smooth and the rainforest looks very lucious and green.

Music: John Powell (How to Train your Dragon) provided the fims score, and while not ats epic as HTTYD, it still has a good vibe to it. The songs are some of the highlights. The songs are mostly sung by the main cast with some numbers by Kristen Chenoweth, Bruno Mars, and especially Anne Hathaway. One song she sings is to her children while they are sleeping, and its just so sweet, it reminds me just how Anne Hathaway won for her performance in 2012 Les Miserable.

I personally give this film a 8.5 out of 10. While the reviews for this film are mixed at best, I love this film mostly for its story and the family interactions between Blu, Jewel and their children. did I mention their children are just freaken adorable.
